Tori Update

Strangest thing....my dog Tori still can't get up. She wags her tail when I go out to check on her and she can lap water and chew food. I'm encouraged by that. Fred thinks she is beginning to move her back legs a little but she appears to be a long way from standing up on them. We've researched the various causes of paralysis in dogs. I learned about coonhounds disease which comes from a raccoon bite, botulism poisoning from eating dead animals or rotted food and the infamous tick fever (we know about that already at our house). We still don't know the cause for certain but we keep putting in the antibiotics and tending to Tori several times a day. She is dry in a soft bed of hay and we're hoping for the best. As long as she continues to have her appetite, I won't give up on her. The other dogs join her from time to time....I'm not sure if they want to keep her company or they just like the opportunity to lay on the hay but either way I think it's comforting to her.
