In honor of President's Day yesterday and in honor of the impending leave of my current college boss, I made a small wager on a longshot racehorse named Texan Terror. Needless to say, I didn't win but I really didn't mind. I only made the gesture in the spirit of recognizing the contribution my boss has made at the college in three years and how glad I am for him to be able to achieve his personal goal of returning to his home state of Texas to work at Vernon. Call it IRONIC that Texas Terror was on the roster or call it coincidence, but my little wager was a silent way of wishing Dusty my best for continued success in his future!
All in all for the day, I did pick three winners and several other selections that resulted in some return. Fred and I saw many people from home including our friends Steve and Carol, Mayor Mike and the crew, Suellen's cousin Mark(we see him every time we go to a big event), Fred's former coworker Rita and more....I love the President's Day tradition at Oaklawn. Fred and I made the most of it!

Hope you and Fred had a wonderful day at the track! I'm still thinking a girls day would be fun, so keep it on your mind! ;-)
