Neither Wind Nor Rain....Oh Wait, I'm Not Postal!

The weather was wet and rainy on Saturday. The wind was very cold and winter-like. However, those of you who know me already know it takes more than bad weather to stop my plans. Every time I schedule anything outdoors, it will rain or snow, or do something!
So, like the postal service, my friend Nancy Dust and I went on our planned trail ride at Rafter D. I wanted everything to go perfectly for Nancy because she is such a nice person. I consider her a 'perfectionist' in all aspects of her life. Needless to say, I can't control the weather and I hope she had fun anyway. Fred came to see that we got started on our trip okay and snapped this picture of Nancy riding our QH John. Fred's becoming a photo buff too.....and since he didn't saddle up with us, he could take a couple of pictures as we rode away.

The moral to this story is to approach life as an adventure - just
enjoy whatever comes your way, learn what you can from it and take it all in stride, or trot or canter or whatever you can hang on through while your horse is moving in the wind and/or the rain!!!!Wonder if any of the Pony Express postal riders had a stout, reliable mule like Fred's favorite four-legged girl Holly. I hadn't ridden Holly in a year or so because Fred won't ride anything else but her....now I remember why - she sure is a smooth one!

BTW, Rafter D is awesome....if you need a place to ride and haven't been to check out their facility, you will be amazed. It's truly a state-of-the-art, full-service place to take your horses and the people there are so very accommodating. Give it a try.

Well don't you girls look cute! (you too John).

SE and I wondered if you all braved the elements. Paintball was postponed till today. I should have known the weather would be sour since you had something planned outside! :D
