This week I've been on a 70's music kick. I have listened to Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Van Morrison (one of my alltime favs) and others. Even caught some John Denver this afternoon....
I read earlier one of the more well-known parts of the Bible in Ecclesiastes. (So glad Ecclesiastes isn't one of our common baby names in my lifetime)...Anyway, In Chapter 3, of Ecclesiastes that is, Solomon observes "TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON. A TIME FOR EVERY PURPOSE UNDER HEAVEN. A TIME TO BE BORN, A TIME TO DIE." and so on. This passage always causes me to reflect on who I am and my experiences in life. I could use a little work on part of verse 7 - a time to keep silence and a time to speak (sure would help not to have to pull my foot out of my mouth so much). I love verse 6 too - a time to gain and a time to lose....that's a hard one to understand sometimes. But I believe my losses have made me more thankful for the gains.
I guess this week was my time to be sentimental and listen to 70's classics! Next week I must move on to something else....anything but clogging music please!
