Pears On Knob Creek

Pears are abundant this fall. Thanks to Ed and Michelle Cooper who live nearby, the old family pear tree on Fred's Knob Creek farm is easy to get to. The Coopers keep the area mowed and accessible and we appreciate that so much. The pear tree is sort of symbolic I guess of different things, of family, of nature, of sharing and history plus more. Pears are also a sign of the arrival of fall, cooler days and longer nights.

We picked up several hands-full of pears last weekend and I need to do something with them....pear jam, pear butter, pear preserves, candied pears, pear treats (easiest option) for horses? Here's a picture of some of the big ripe dudes on the tree. They are yummy!

Fred is proud of his farm on Knob Creek Rd and the pear tree too.
