My good horse John went to Ozarka College last week. He endured my driving into town with the horse trailer in tow and we arrived on Tuesday afternoon without incident (it was somewhat questionable as to whether I could get the truck and trailer through the cattleguard, over the mountain and into the college parking lot without accident.)
Anyway, John arrived safe and sound to serve as a model for the equine class at Ozarka. He slipped a little on the pavement in the parking lot but all in all, he seemed to enjoy the outing. The students looked at his feet, measured him for balance and height, listened to his heart and lungs and a few other things.....none of which he minded too much except for looking at his teeth. Hey, a horse has his limit of modesty you know.
For his time and effort, he received a lot of friendly attention, two apples, one pear and numerous horse treats. Ms. Sidney Nisbet, pictured above, even gave John a kiss on the nose. They are Best Friends Forever now according to John! I was so proud of John for minding his manners. He stood very attentively still for about three hours before we loaded back in the trailer and headed to the greenest pasture of all-HOME.

Here the students are measuring John to plug in the numbers needed to calculate his overall balance according to instructor Tom Sauer's formula. John made approximately 100% on this test. He's smart-after all, he found me to take care of him. This horse is highly intelligent! Going to Ozarka College just made him even smarter!!!!
