Kim Whitten gave me a new nickname this week....the "Crazy Mule Lady". That pretty much says it all about me. I am definitely crazy. I am most certainly a lady (most of the time) and I have grown to love mules. Not so long ago, I don't think I'd ever even stopped to appreciate the mule and its many redeeming qualities. The mule in general is loving and loyal if you are good to them and they are super-durable and healthy. Mules have a great place in the history of our country, including function in several wars, settling of the West and much more. They have a great memory, know what they want out of life and don't fool around about getting where they want to go. Of course, they will all have variations and quirks - but don't we all. This crazy mule lady has several quirks.
Now for the reason Kim gave me a new nickname: WE GOT ANOTHER NEW MULE!!!!!!!!!!! This one is a baby....not even two years old. (Fred says a mule shouldn't be born until they're five years old.) Anyway, this one is just precious. She is going to be fun-loving and sweet to watch grow up. She is a very dark bay with four white stockings. We've only had her a few days but we are having some crazy fun already! I would count how many mules we have now but I'd have to take off my shoes....
So, thank you Kim for the new nickname which I will try to live up to. And, thank you to Fred, my hubby, who allows me to bring animals home and keep them, even though it means extra work for him. Life is so good!
