"Driving To Daisy"

This morning at 7:30, Fred and I set out for Daisy, Arkansas. Frankly, I'd be surprised if you've heard of it before now. I hadn't until I looked for it on the map. But, it's a lovely little small town west of Hot Springs. We were 'driving to Daisy' for the Christmas lunch hosted by Fred's new employer, Mack Reynolds Appraisal Company.
Everyone was so nice at the Christmas party. The company decided to collect toys and money for Arkansas Children's Hospital this year in lieu of exchanging gifts - to get back to what Christmas is really all about I guess. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch, desserts were mouth-watering and conversation was interesting at the Baxter County table. I am so glad Fred invited me to go along...it was a fun opportunity for me to meet some of the people Fred works with now. I knew most of the ACD staff by the time Fred retired from there so now I'm learning new faces. Plus, with four hours driving to and four hours back, Fred and I talked alot about this and that. It was good quality time for us and boy, do I love his XM radio in the new truck. I have exclusive rights to tune the stations.
We stopped by Lowes on the way home to get quotes on some tile and windows and to measure some of the showers, etc. When we got home, the builders had been here doing prep work to start the footing on the first floor!!! I'm so excited about our building project....seems like Driving To Daisy Day overall was a very productive day for us.
