Sylamore Trail Ride

Fred and I were able to participate in the second day of the Cowboy Church trail ride camping trip to Sylamore in May. We almost didn't get to go because our coggins papers hadn't come in! All's well that ends well I suppose....because we had a wonderful time traveling the Sylamore forest with John and Holly (not our neighbors, our equine...John is the good-looking sorrel boy on the left). They did well for their first ride of the season. Holly stepped on a pebble and lamed up on the very last leg of our ride and Fred was very concerned....until Lance (our pastor and resident farrier) picked the pebble out of her hoof! The moral to this story is to always trail ride with your farrier, just in case......The weather was awesome and the group was very patient, even with a beginner and her lazy horse. It was a blessing.
